Description

We are seeking an ABEM Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a long-term nocturnist locum opportunity in Connecticut. This assignment offers a consistent overnight schedule, strong APP support, and the opportunity to practice in a high-volume emergency department with dual physician coverage during peak hours.

Assignment Details

Start: Late December 2026 or Early January 2027
23-week assignment
Coverage through May 2027
Backfill for retiring physician

Schedule

Overnight shifts: 11:00 PM 9:00 AM
Average 32 hours per week
Typically 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next

Practice Setting

Emergency Department
Annual Volume: Approximately 54,000 visits
Dual physician coverage: 7:00 AM 2:00 AM
Single physician coverage: 2:00 AM 7:00 AM

Clinical Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage adult and pediatric emergency patients
Perform standard emergency medicine procedures
Collaborate with APPs and emergency department staff
Approximately 15 patients per shift

Support

24-hour Advanced Practice Provider coverage
Collaborative emergency medicine team

Requirements

MD or DO
ABEM Board Certified
Active Connecticut license preferred
Local or drive-in candidates strongly preferred
